From 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022, the Republic of Serbia, together with more than 190 countries from all over the world, participated in the prestigious world exhibition Expo 2020 Dubai. The theme of Serbia's participation in the World Exhibition was "SERBIA CREATES IDEAS - Inspired by the past, shaping the future".
Central place to Serbia’s mission to the World Expo is the Serbia Pavilion, an architecturally striking 2.000 m2 building rising over three floors located in the heart of the Expo’s Mobility District. The pavilion will present a unique dual platform for displaying Serbia’s stories – a physical pavilion in Dubai and a virtual / digital pavilion online – that integrates timeless and limitless content with real space. The pavilion is a "time capsule" uncovering not only Vinča and modern Serbia, but also ways of living harmoniously for the future.
The Mobility District “creates connections to drive the world forward, breaking down the divide between the physical and digital worlds to build a harmonious, global society where information, ideas and goods are exchanged faster than ever before.”
The Serbian pavilion consists of four parts:
Serbia Creates Ideas
Serbia Creates Opportunities
Serbia Creates Experiences
Serbia Creates Inspiration
